Shift Pattern (2-Week Rotation):
- Week 1: Monday to Friday, 05:00 - 15:00
- Week 2: Monday to Friday, 16:00 - 02:00
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role plays a key part in maintaining production efficiency within a fast-paced poultry processing and packaging operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Responding swiftly to breakdowns
- Delivering planned preventative maintenance
- Supporting continuous improvement projects across the site, with a particular focus on mechanical maintenance and reliability
The position involves working on a wide range of processing and packaging equipment including:
- Conveyors
- Module and tray transport systems
- Plucking equipment
- Evisceration machinery
- Tray sealers
- Flow wrappers
- Vacuum sealing machinery
This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills, combined with a good understanding of electrical systems to support efficient fault diagnosis and minimise downtime. Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance
- Replacing and repairing mechanical components, bearings, chains, gearboxes, motors, pumps and conveyor systems
- Supporting production teams during breakdown situations
- Undertaking machinery modifications, installation work and small engineering projects
Basic PLC fault finding and electrical troubleshooting skills are also required.
