The predicted salary is between 44000 - 48000 £ per year.

Multiskilled Engineer Ipswich (Monday – Friday 05:45am – 14:45pm, with a 30-minute paid lunch break) £44,460 – £47,970 + £125 guaranteed on call pay out every other weekend £3,250 van provided + overtime 1.333 x salary.

Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and improving automated equipment and systems within a busy animal and agricultural environment – playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

Key tasks within the job:

  • To undertake planned preventative maintenance activities and reactive maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency of the plant and profitability. Carrying out tasks to the highest standard.
  • To ensure all engineering tasks are undertaken in line with Health & Safety, Quality and Food Safety Standards.
  • Provide full emergency breakdown cover for all plant and services.
  • Complete all work sheets and report any problems and follow ups required, including Planned Maintenance work sheets, handover sheets.
  • Maintain a high standard of work and promote good housekeeping throughout the hatchery and workshop.
  • Administer, monitor, analyse and update machine history data using the engineering maintenance management system.
  • Provide first line cover in all hatchery machinery problems.
  • Be proactive with ideas for improving the plant and engineering departments.
  • Provide ideas on cost cutting measures.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to help maintain efficiency and throughputs within the hatchery and reduce downtime.

What we’re looking for:

  • A genuine interest and experience in engineering, mechanics, and automation and how things work with a strong electrical background.
  • 18th Edition Electrical Qualification.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliability, attention to detail, motivation, and a willingness to learn.
  • A full UK driving licence.
