The Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team, reporting directly to the Engineering Supervisor.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the site's production facilities, machinery, and infrastructure operate at maximum efficiency and reliability.

You'll play a key role in delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment.

Working as part of the engineering shift team, you'll respond to breakdowns, carry out fault finding and repairs, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help minimise downtime to keep production running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment and site facilities.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively.
  • Prioritise maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and contribute to site performance enhancements.
  • Supervise and coordinate contractors undertaking maintenance work on site.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation and engineering standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete reports in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to deliver effective maintenance support.
  • Participate in weekend PPM activities as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have

  • A nationally recognised engineering qualification in an electrical or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience working within a manufacturing or plant maintenance environment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills, with good mechanical knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • A good understanding of current engineering legislation, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Experience working with industrial plant machinery and equipment manufacturers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with engineering maintenance software.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a resilient and positive attitude.
