Location: Multi-site role – North & South England within Food Production / Milling

Recruiting an experienced and driven Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimise end-to-end supply chain operations across two production sites in the North and South of England. This role is critical in ensuring customer requirements are met efficiently while maintaining high service levels, inventory accuracy, and strong relationships with third-party partners. The successful candidate will lead a small team and work cross-functionally to align production, logistics, and commercial priorities within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service & Commercial Alignment
    • Work closely with the commercial team to ensure customer needs are clearly understood and consistently met
    • Maintain high service levels through effective planning and execution
    • Act as a key point of escalation for customer-related supply issues
  • Planning & Operations
    • Align production plans with customer demand and forecasts
    • Collaborate across functions as part of the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process
    • Ensure efficient coordination between both sites to optimise supply chain performance
  • Logistics & Distribution
    • Manage relationships with third-party warehousing and distribution providers
    • Oversee transport and shipping operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
    • Monitor performance of logistics partners against agreed KPIs
  • Procurement & Inventory
    • Manage ordering of third-party sourced products
    • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy across both sites
    • Lead forecasting and stock management activities to balance availability and working capital
  • Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement
    • Ensure robust systems and processes are in place to support supply chain activities
    • Drive improvements in data accuracy, reporting, and operational efficiency
    • Utilise ERP systems (preferably JDE) to support planning and execution
  • Administration
    • Oversee supply chain-related administration to ensure accurate documentation and reporting
    • Maintain compliance with internal and external standards
  • People Management
    • Lead, develop, and support a team of 5 across two locations
    • Set clear objectives, manage performance, and foster a collaborative team culture
    • Ensure workload is effectively prioritised and managed across the team

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions
  • Proven people management experience, with a focus on team development
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload across a multi-site team
  • Demonstrable supply chain management experience, ideally within a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with third-party logistics and warehousing providers
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and demand forecasting
  • Experience using ERP systems (JDE preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
