Overview: Our client, a welding and fabrication company, is seeking an organised individual to support their operations. This role involves managing incoming fabrication jobs, preparing quotations, purchasing materials, and assisting with project coordination. The ideal candidate will have experience working with sheet metal or within a fabrication environment, along with knowledge of AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Raising and inputting fabrication jobs onto the system as they are received
- Reviewing drawings and job specifications to ensure all details are accurate
- Preparing and issuing quotations for fabrication work
- Calculating material requirements (e.g. sheet metal, steel sections)
- Sourcing and purchasing materials required for each job
- Liaising with suppliers, workshop staff, and management to ensure smooth workflow
- Maintaining accurate records of jobs, quotes, and purchases
- Assisting with AutoCAD drawings, including reviewing and minor amendments
- Providing general administrative support to the team
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an administrative or coordination role within a fabrication, welding, or sheet metal environment
