As a skills-based organisation, Rolls-Royce is committed to developing people who are ready for the future. People who have the agility, behaviours, knowledge and mindset to deliver change, add value and support our transformation however our business requires.
This is exactly what our Enterprise Skills Accelerator is designed to give you. So, if you’re looking for a versatile career as part of an iconic, high-performing, constantly evolving company, this is an opportunity like no other.
What is the Enterprise Skills Accelerator?
It’s an accelerated development programme geared towards future-focused leadership skills.
We know the foundations future business leaders need. And through real-world ‘gigs’ (or placements), group projects, self-driven learning, and access to our amazing leaders, experts and networks, you’ll gain the behavioural, technical and mindset skills that will set you up for success, at pace.
Within 12-24 months, you’ll have attained a postgraduate qualification and unlocked an agile mindset, with the ability to learn, unlearn and relearn however the future of work requires. You’ll develop an appreciation for emerging tech and AI in the business environment, enabling you to challenge ‘how’ we work while adding strategic value and commercial impact. So, you have the potential to become an agile leader in any area.
It\’s an experience tailored to you. Ongoing skills assessments ensure learning opportunities are structured around your needs, ensuring breadth. And with access to opportunities across our whole enterprise, leadership coaching, and the ability to self-direct your own study towards a professional qualification, you’re in control of the pace of your progression.
What you\’ll do
As a programme that’s tailored to you, we can’t say exactly what your experience on the Enterprise Skills Accelerator will be. But here’s a rough outline of what the journey involves.
- In October 2025, you’ll begin with an intensive one-month induction, where you’ll meet leaders, experience our head office in London, and learn about our culture, strategy, and the products and services that enable us to power, protect and connect people everywhere.
- You’ll also kick-start your post-graduate qualification: meeting support networks, understanding key modules and gaining access to the resources available for your self-directed learning.
- A skills assessment will identify your strengths and areas you need to work on. Together, we’ll find a suitable five-month gig within Rolls-Royce that can help you build the skills you need.
- Gigs could take place anywhere across our enterprise, whether that’s in Head Office, our business capabilities, enabling functions or our divisions. You could find yourself: managing programmes that are delivering critical milestones for our customers; shaping the strategy that’s driving our business; communicating essential change programmes and mobilising our teams; contributing to live sales campaigns; or participating in supplier negotiations.
- You’ll then complete a six-month strategic project working with other Accelerator members. Taking on a genuine Rolls-Royce challenge, you’ll identify a solution, roadmap its implementation, design the communication cascade, and present the business case to Executive leaders. This is a critical milestone for your post-graduate qualification, which you’ll complete after 12 months.
- Following another skills assessment, where you’re showing all the capabilities, we think you need, you’ll complete the programme in 12 months. If further development or experience is needed, we’ll identify additional six-month gigs, up to 24 months.
- Throughout it all, you’ll attend masterclasses with Head Office teams including Investor Relations, Corporate Governance, Communications as well as our Transformation Office. And you’ll be sponsored by one of our senior leaders, receiving one-to-one mentoring and support.
- Where you demonstrate the right behavioural, technical and mindset skills at the end of the programme, you’ll join our open talent marketplace. There you can enjoy an agile career delivering projects and supporting teams, wherever your skills can add the most value at Rolls-Royce.
Who you need to be
Someone with a degree, of any class, in any subject. You may have recently graduated, or you may have acquired your degree some time ago – it doesn’t matter.
