With every community, Stantec redefines what’s possible. We’re looking for two Graduate Mechanical Engineers to join our progressive, award-winning Mechanical & Electrical Engineering team in our Birmingham office, where you’ll help deliver sustainable projects for our communities, planet, and society. One graduate will join immediately (September/October 2025) and the other in 2026.

About The Role

As a Stantec graduate, you’ll work on live projects from day one across a variety of sectors, including healthcare and education. You will collaborate within an exciting, creative, interdisciplinary environment and benefit from strong support from office and technical colleagues, with significant guidance from senior staff within our open and collaborative culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to mechanical building services design and calculations.
  • Develop scheme design concepts under the guidance of supervisors.
  • Use Revit and 3D BIM modelling software for design production.
  • Coordinate designs with other professional disciplines.
  • Produce detailed designs and drawings.
  • Input into or develop energy and sustainability strategies, including dynamic thermal modelling.
  • Participate in design team and client meetings.
  • Undertake site visits and surveys.
  • Research and implement new technologies.
  • Engage in continuous CPD and learning opportunities.

Typical Systems You’ll Work On

  • Heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and control systems.
  • Above-ground drainage systems.
  • Domestic hot and cold-water services.

About You

We value your potential over past experience. You should have a degree or master’s qualification in a relevant mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or building services engineering subject, along with a strong interest in our industry. We’d love to hear from you if you are:
