The role would suit an experienced supply chain professional who has developed their career within manufacturing and is confident managing the practical day-to-day challenges of materials, stock, warehousing and logistics. Key areas of responsibility will include: Manage inventory across multiple sites, maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring materials are available to support production requirements. Take ownership of 1,000+ SKUs, maintaining effective stock control across raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods. Oversee day-to-day materials handling and warehouse processes, ensuring goods are stored, moved and recorded efficiently. Coordinate inbound deliveries and outbound logistics, working closely with suppliers, carriers and internal teams. Monitor supplier deliveries and address issues around shortages, delays, quality or incorrect quantities. Support purchasing activity by providing accurate information on stock levels, demand and material requirements. Use ERP/MRP systems to monitor inventory, raise requirements and maintain accurate supply chain information. Develop and maintain appropriate stock levels, balancing availability against the cost of holding excess inventory. Identify slow-moving, obsolete or surplus stock and work with relevant teams to reduce unnecessary inventory. Work closely with Production and Operations to understand changing requirements and resolve material constraints. Monitor delivery performance and help ensure customer orders are completed and dispatched on time and in full. Maintain effective processes for stock movements between locations and ensure transactions are accurately recorded. Work with warehouse teams to improve organisation, space utilisation, material flow and stock accuracy. Coordinate with freight and logistics providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective movement of goods. Support supplier performance reviews, helping to resolve recurring supply and delivery issues. Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, improve stock accuracy and increase supply chain efficiency. Provide regular reporting on inventory, material availability, supplier performance and logistics activity. Support continuous improvement projects across materials, inventory and logistics. About You We're looking for someone who understands manufacturing supply chains from an operational perspective and is comfortable taking ownership of materials and inventory in a busy environment. You'll ideally have: At least 4 years' experience in supply chain management or a closely related role. At least 2 years' experience working within a manufacturing environment - this is essential. Strong experience in materials management and inventory control. Experience managing inventory across multiple sites or locations. Experience working with a large and varied SKU portfolio, ideally 1,000+ SKUs. A strong understanding of warehouse operations, materials handling and stock movements. Good knowledge of logistics, inbound and outbound transportation and delivery coordination. Experience using ERP/MRP systems to manage stock, purchasing or material requirements. A good understanding of stock forecasting, replenishment and maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Experience investigating stock discrepancies and putting robust controls in place to improve inventory accuracy. Strong supplier and stakeholder management skills. The ability to work closely with Production, Operations, Purchasing and Warehouse teams. Good analytical skills, with the ability to use data to identify problems and improve performance. A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. You Will Be Operationally focused, with a genuine interest in keeping materials and products moving efficiently through the business. Highly organised, with strong attention to detail around stock, systems and documentation. Analytical, able to understand inventory data and use it to identify issues and opportunities. Commercially aware, understanding the balance between stock availability, working capital and customer service. Proactive, willing to identify problems and take action rather than waiting for issues to escalate. Collaborative, comfortable working across Production, Operations, Purchasing, Warehouse and Finance. Confident and practical, able to deal directly with suppliers, logistics providers and internal stakeholders. Resilient, able to remain effective when priorities change or supply chain challenges arise. Desirable Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Winman or similar. Experience managing stock across multiple manufacturing or warehouse locations. Previous responsibility for a large SKU portfolio. Experience with MRP, material requirements planning or demand/replenishment planning. CIPS, APICS, CPIM, CSCP or another relevant supply chain qualification. Experience within furniture, engineered products, homewares or another manufacturing-led environment. Experience with stock optimisation or continuous improvement initiatives. The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supply chain professional to take ownership of a key operational function within a growing manufacturing business. The role offers genuine responsibility across materials, inventory, warehousing and logistics, with the opportunity to improve processes, strengthen stock control and make a visible difference to the performance of the operation. If you are someone who enjoys working with data but is equally comfortable getting into the detail of a warehouse, resolving a material shortage, challenging a supplier or investigating a stock discrepancy, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
