Our well-established manufacturing client is seeking an experienced Dispatch and Inspection Operative to support their Dispatch & Production team.
Job Type: Full time; Permanent
Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

About the Dispatch & Inspection Operative Role:
The Dispatch Operative plays a critical role in ensuring that all products leaving the factory meet our exacting quality standards. As our products are handmade, each item requires careful final inspection to ensure consistency and visual harmony when matched with like-for-like items. This role combines quality control, packing, and dispatch coordination in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work in a structured and process-driven way, following standard operating procedures (SOPs), while collaborating closely with team leaders and colleagues to ensure accurate and timely order fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities of the Dispatch & Inspection Operative:
- Conduct final inspection of finished parts, ensuring aesthetic finish and overall quality meet company standards, particularly when matching items within the same order.
- Pick parts from stock with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Pack products using sustainable materials, ensuring protection and presentation meet brand expectations.
- Select and adapt packaging solutions based on customer requirements, including modifying materials for non-standard or bespoke product sizes.
- Prepare shipments, including printing and applying courier labels (e.g. FedEx).
- Use computer system to track orders and update job status.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain a structured, methodical approach.
- Work closely with the Dispatch Team Leader and colleagues to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workspace in line with 5S principles, ensuring high standards of housekeeping and workflow efficiency.
- Operate effectively in a high-paced dispatch environment, ensuring deadlines are consistently met without compromising quality.
Skills & Experience Requirements of the Dispatch and Inspection Operative:
- Experience in a dispatch, warehouse, or manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially in visual inspection.
- Ability to identify variations in finish and colour.
- Computer literate.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- A team player with good communication skills.
- Practical problem-solver.
