An excellent opportunity for an Electronics Assembly Technician to join our well-established manufacturing client in Barnstaple.

Job Type: Permanent; 37.5-hour week

Salary: Β£25,000 per annum

Location: Barnstaple

Responsibilities of the Electronics Assembly Technician:

  • Assemble components with accuracy following detailed build instructions or customer drawings.
  • Manufacture products in a timely manner to meet deadlines and time restraints.
  • Complete tasks in accordance with both General Manufacturing and Aerospace controls (IPC 610/620 and ISO9001 or AS9100 standards).
  • Maintain a zero defects, right first-time attitude.
  • Promote a continuous improvement approach in all tasks.
  • Work within a zero-harm culture.
  • Work as a willing, competent member of a team with a continuous improvement attitude.
  • Be flexible in approach with willingness to learn new skills, such as IPC 610/620 or ISO as necessary.
  • Ability to work in an orderly manner and organised in a 6S environment.
  • Able to work to required KPIs with respect to quality of work, performance & output.
  • Identify & raise problems to the team (immediate/Wider).
  • Demonstrate safe behaviour at all times to ensure yourself and others are safe.

Competencies/Qualifications of the Electronics Assembly Technician:

  • Experienced in assembly for the aerospace industry or similar high-precision industry.
  • Experience in working in low volume, high product mix, build-to-print environments.
  • Experience working in design to spec environments following customer drawings and schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as a team, thrive under pressure and deliver against deadlines.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills are essential.
  • Experience in soldering, assembly, PCB build or wiring operations within manufacturing.
  • Experience working in a KPI led environment and knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Accreditations in IPC 610/620 or recognised ESA/ECSS are desirable.
  • Experience working to ISO9001 or AS9100 standards.
