An excellent opportunity for an Electronics Assembly Technician to join our well-established manufacturing client in Barnstaple.
Job Type: Permanent; 37.5-hour week
Salary: Β£25,000 per annum
Location: Barnstaple
Responsibilities of the Electronics Assembly Technician:
- Assemble components with accuracy following detailed build instructions or customer drawings.
- Manufacture products in a timely manner to meet deadlines and time restraints.
- Complete tasks in accordance with both General Manufacturing and Aerospace controls (IPC 610/620 and ISO9001 or AS9100 standards).
- Maintain a zero defects, right first-time attitude.
- Promote a continuous improvement approach in all tasks.
- Work within a zero-harm culture.
- Work as a willing, competent member of a team with a continuous improvement attitude.
- Be flexible in approach with willingness to learn new skills, such as IPC 610/620 or ISO as necessary.
- Ability to work in an orderly manner and organised in a 6S environment.
- Able to work to required KPIs with respect to quality of work, performance & output.
- Identify & raise problems to the team (immediate/Wider).
- Demonstrate safe behaviour at all times to ensure yourself and others are safe.
Competencies/Qualifications of the Electronics Assembly Technician:
- Experienced in assembly for the aerospace industry or similar high-precision industry.
- Experience in working in low volume, high product mix, build-to-print environments.
- Experience working in design to spec environments following customer drawings and schedules.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a team, thrive under pressure and deliver against deadlines.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills are essential.
- Experience in soldering, assembly, PCB build or wiring operations within manufacturing.
- Experience working in a KPI led environment and knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques.
- Accreditations in IPC 610/620 or recognised ESA/ECSS are desirable.
- Experience working to ISO9001 or AS9100 standards.
