Our well-established manufacturing client is seeking a hands-on Production Operative to join their manufacturing team in the finishing department.
Job Type: Full Time; Permanent
Salary: £27,280 per annum (£13.45 per hour)
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8 am - 4:30 pm; Friday 8 am - 3:30 pm
Location: Barnstaple
About the Production Operative Role:
This role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, has a good eye for detail, and takes pride in producing quality work. You will help create high-quality finished metal components using a range of finishing techniques and processes. You will work as part of a friendly team in a fast-paced production environment, helping us deliver products to a high standard and on time.
Key Responsibilities of the Production Operative:
- Carrying out finishing processes to achieve the required look and quality
- Using tools and techniques such as blasting, surface finishing, and abrasive treatments
- Following clear processes and work instructions
- Checking finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards
- Supporting the team to meet production deadlines
- Keeping work areas clean, organised, and safe
- Handling materials and chemicals safely using the correct protective equipment (PPE)
- Reporting any equipment issues or faults when needed
- Working closely with colleagues across production and quality teams
- Helping with general production tasks when required
What We’re Looking for in the Production Operative:
- Support wider business activities as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across production processes
- Act in line with company values, quality standards, and professional behaviours
- Provide flexibility to meet changing production demands and priorities
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the business
- Production or manufacturing experience/knowledge is beneficial
