We have an opportunity for an Import Merchandiser to join our team in Salford on a one‑year fixed‑term basis. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the merchandiser will liaise with offshore suppliers, factories and customers to manage the critical path ensuring all products meet delivery dates while maintaining the quality and safety standards required.
Responsibilities
- Manage Customer and Licensor approvals to meet critical path.
- Check lab dips/strike offs and bulk fabric submissions and manage customer approval.
- Raise orders on the internal system and notify country offices/factories as required.
- Input data into the internal Order Management system to provide up to date and accurate information for the production and warehousing teams to work from.
- Complete customer packaging requirements and order photographic samples with factories.
- Liaise with the Licensing coordinator regarding the development and approval of licensor packaging.
- Ensure all paperwork is kept up to date and ensure customer contracts match our PO/SO.
- Arrange and lead customer pre‑production meetings.
- Be responsible (along with Technical team) for Gold Seal checking procedure and authorising shipment of goods.
- Coordinate the checking and approval of invoices and packing lists and give the authorisation to accounts for payment.
- Work alongside the warehouse team to ensure on time delivery of goods to the customer.
- Hold meetings with the customer as per agreement with the Account Manager.
- Identify opportunities for improving the method of operation in your area of responsibility.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by management.
- Observe all Company Rules, Standard Operating Procedures and Company Policies particularly in relation to Health and Safety, Harassment, Disciplinary and ICT Security.
- Maximise efficiency by supporting Cooneen Lean continuous improvement activities.

Requirements
Essential
- Previous import merchandising experience.
- Proficiency in a range of software, including MS Office Suite.
- Ability to see a full colour range (required for checking lab dips).
Desirable
- Degree or equivalent in an industry related field.
- Experience working with licensors or character wear.
- Previous experience working within the fashion or textiles industry, ideally in children’swear.
- Clean current driving licence (for attending customer visits).
