We are hiring an Assistant Accountant with Purchase responsibilities for a 12-month fixed-term contract (with potential extension). The role focuses on accounts payable, purchase ledger, invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, and finance administration.
Responsibilities:
- Processing Supplier Invoices / Resolve Supplier Queries / Prepare Supplier Payments
- Maintain Accounting System
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Stock reconciliations, valuations and usage analysis
- Posting and subsequent balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide backup & support to finance team members
- Any other duties deemed necessary by management
- Observe all Company Rules, Standard Operating Procedures and Company Policies particularly in relation to Health and Safety, Harassment, Disciplinary and ICT Security
- Maximize efficiency by supporting Cooneen Lean continuous improvement activities

Requirements:
Essential:
- A degree in a relevant financial field, or working towards AAT qualification
- Experience in a similar assistant accountants role; purchase ledger, invoice processing or reconciliations
- Able to work FT 5 days per week
- Familiarity with accounting software or advanced Excel skills
- Exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, or reconciliations
- Proven strong numerical skills with a keen eye for detail
- Possesses analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Interest in pursuing a career in finance or accounting
