As our Grapple Saw Operator, you will support colleagues with mechanised tree felling/harvesting works, including use of a grapple saw, in clear fell, thinnings and Duty of Care (DOC) works.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working harvesting machines at a good level of output without unnecessary idling or stoppage time
  • Completing all forest operations in line with health, safety and environmental standards (including site management plans and risk assessments)

To be successful as our Grapple Saw Operator, we would ideally like you to have the following skills/experience:

  • Significant experience of large-scale mechanised harvesting operations, including operating a grapple saw, or similar
  • Harvester FMOCS qualified/CPCS tracked/wheeled machines
  • NPTC in chainsaw use (maintenance, cross cutting and felling up to 380mm)
  • Ability to read and interpret maps, including GPS/GIS

As this is a multi-site role, a full, UK driving license is essential. As you will be working outdoors, you must be happy working in all the British weather has to offer.
