West Kirby School & College is seeking to appoint a Fixed Term Teaching Assistant (Level 2).

Contract: Working 35 hours per week, term time only. Fixed term until 22nd July 2026.

Role Overview: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to join our school for a fixed term. To excel in this role, you will have proven experience of working in a classroom environment and 1:1, preferably with pupils who have special educational needs including ASD, learning difficulties and/or behavioural difficulties. You will possess patience, energy and enthusiasm and be prepared to engage young people with significant complex needs in sports, the creative arts, outdoor pursuits and life skills activities. TAs work across the school with all our students; however, there is the possibility this role may consist of 1:1 work.

Qualifications:

  • Grade C or above essential
  • ELSA Trained desirable
  • NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification and/or experience, desirable

Skills:

  • Experience of working with children and young people essential
  • Experience of working in a school or similar establishment
  • Desire to enhance and develop skills / knowledge through CPD essential
  • Efficient and meticulous in organisation essential
  • Ability to show initiative and to prioritise one’s own work and meet required deadlines essential
