Are you passionate about wanting to make a difference to young people’s lives? Do you want a job that is varied and rewarding? No experience is necessary. We’ll provide full training, including British Sign Language (BSL) training.

We’re seeking Waking Night Residential Care Workers to join our inspiring team supporting our students (aged 9-25) to develop their independent living skills, whilst supporting their education. The role will be in our on-site residential flats at the Deaf Academy based in Exmouth, a couple of minutes walk from the beach.

The role will be four nights per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), working between 10pm – 8am, supporting children and young people overnight with all aspects of their care including personal care, medical needs and independent living skills. There will also be administration and household tasks to be completed.

The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults; as such an enhanced DBS check is required. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare any cautions, convictions, reprimands and final warnings that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020).
