Approximate Season Dates: May 20 - September 20. Brooks Lodge is seeking energetic, guest-focused individuals to join our seasonal team in one of the most extraordinary places in the world—Katmai National Park on the Brooks River. Brooks Lodge operates under a Concessions Contract with the National Park Service and is located on the Brooks River in Katmai National Park. Brooks Lodge supports lodging for 64 guests, a nearby campground, as well as fly-in day visitors for world-class bear viewing and fishing.

This position supports daily kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, baking, stocking, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This position is ideal for individuals with prior kitchen experience who value food safety, efficiency, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Position Overview

Prep Cooks are responsible for preparing ingredients and supporting cooks to ensure timely and consistent meal service. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to follow food safety standards in a high-volume kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily food preparation following established recipes and menu expectations
  • Baking of breads and desserts as assigned by chef
  • Measure, portion, and prepare ingredients accurately
  • Support cooks during meal service as needed
  • Stock kitchen stations and storage areas
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning as assigned
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Schedule & Compensation

Bi-weekly pay, with standard overtime. Tips pooled among staff. Food and housing provided at no cost.
