Approximate Season Dates: May 20 - September 18. Brooks Lodge operates under a Concessions Contract with the National Park Service and is located on the Brooks River in Katmai National Park. Brooks Lodge supports lodging for 64 guests, a nearby campground, as well as fly-in day visitors for world-class bear viewing and fishing. Brooks Lodge is seeking energetic, guest-focused individuals to join our seasonal team in one of the most extraordinary places in the world—Katmai National Park on the Brooks River. Our operating staff of 26 works alongside an incredible natural cast of bears, eagles, and salmon, all with one shared goal: delivering an unforgettable experience for every guest who visits Brooks Lodge. This is a hands-on, fast-paced position best suited for people who enjoy physical work, teamwork, and life in a remote wilderness setting.
The Lodge Keeper / Server role combines housekeeping and food service responsibilities and is essential to daily lodge operations. This position is ideal for hard-working, adaptable individuals who take pride in both behind-the-scenes work and guest-facing service.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and reset guest rooms daily to lodge standards
- Complete room turnovers efficiently between guest stays
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas and staff spaces
- Lift, move, and organize supplies as needed
- Work on your feet for extended periods
- Support all three daily meal services
- Run food and bus tables in a busy dining room
- Operate the cash register and handle guest transactions
- Communicate daily meal offerings and answer guest questions
- Provide friendly, attentive service to guests from around the world
- Standard workweek of 6 days, approximately 10 hours per day
- Bi-weekly pay, with standard overtime
- Tips pooled among staff
- Food and housing provided at no cost
