We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant II to support our General Surgical Care and Bariatrics & Weight Management practice onsite, Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM. As true partners to our providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
  • Preparing patient charts
  • Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed)
  • Assisting during minor surgeries and procedures
  • Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)
  • Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
  • Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred

Licenses and Credentials:

  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
  • Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred

Experience:

  • Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this position.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
  • Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.
