We are seeking a Leasehold Dispute Solicitor to join our Residential Leasehold & Block Management department. This role involves managing a diverse range of leasehold disputes and providing expert legal advice to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Recovery of ground rent, service charge and administration charge, including legal costs.
- Enforcing leaseholder breaches of covenant including unauthorised alterations and unauthorised subletting and use, including short-term Airbnb style lettings.
- Forfeiture of leases.
- Advising upon the Building Safety Act 2022 and fire safety legislation.
- Advising upon major works and statutory consultation.
- Defending claims for damages for breach of repairing obligations.
- Applications to vary lease provisions under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987.
- Advice upon the interpretation of lease provisions, including liability for repair.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years PQE in leasehold dispute work.
Required Skills
- Demonstrate their track record by way of a client following and/or reliable referral sources with ability to maintain these at Coole Bevis LLP as well as developing new sources of work.
- Have a proven track-record undertaking leasehold dispute work for both freehold landlords and leaseholders.
- Ability to understand existing client’s needs and nurture these relationships.
Preferred Skills
- Additional leasehold enfranchisement experience would be a bonus, but not essential.
Pay range and compensation package
- Salary depending on experience. Competitive compensation package including ability to work from any firm office site and hybrid/ flexible working options.
