Senior Investment Analyst with Top Credit Fund Manager

Coolabah Capital Investments is a leading global fixed-income investor managing over USD $14 billion for institutional and retail clients. The Firm focuses on generating alpha from security-specific positions through highly quantitative proprietary models combined with comprehensive credit research. The team includes a 14-person portfolio management team and 22 analysts across a total of 61 talented, full-time staff located in our offices in London, Miami, Nassau, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.

The role is a senior buy-side investment analyst position reporting to the Head of Credit Research in Melbourne, Australia, with key responsibilities including:

• Participation in the investment process including conducting deep dive financial analysis, detailed review of industry dynamics, financial statements and other company disclosures;
• Providing independent views on the fundamental creditworthiness of issuers and instruments to portfolio managers, whether to avoid endogenous credit risk or in identifying fundamental credit opportunities;
• Production of thorough written research reports and detailed financial models concluding with investment recommendations on new and existing investments;
• Direct involvement in meetings and conference calls with the management of listed and unlisted companies;
• Provide support to the wider firm regarding ESG related processes and policy changes.

It is expected a market-competitive contract will be agreed with the opportunity to participate in the bonus pool, including equity participation over time. The work will be demanding and highly rewarding, with the right candidate able to assume significant responsibilities and contribute directly to portfolio performance.

We are considering highly motivated candidates with approximately 5-10 years analyst experience within credit research/ratings agency, investment banking, management consulting, funds management and/or major accounting firms. Experience covering financials companies is desirable, though not required.
