Based in Lancashire, our client is a well-established and leading manufacturer of rubber and elastomeric products, components and bespoke solutions, primarily for the Oil & Gas, Industrial & Chemical, Defence, Rail and Marine Safety markets. The business is embarking on an exciting period of change and they currently seek to appoint a talented, experienced and hands-on Sales Manager, with future leadership potential, who can deliver business growth and profitability.
The Role:
- Reporting to the MD, you will take responsibility for developing and executing sales strategy in order to maximise sales, drive growth and profitability and enhance customer satisfaction levels.
- Developing a strategic plan to target and win new business.
- Leading from the front, developing major accounts and driving new customer acquisition, retention and loyalty.
- Cross-selling existing products to similar markets as well as broadening the product offering.
- Working closely with the MD and Technical Director to overview development of new products and assessing their commercial viability.
- Building and leading a strong sales team with a focus on people development.
- Operational reporting, weekly forecasting and budget/P&L management.
- Driving the business to the next level.
The Requirements:
- Ideally of graduate calibre and highly commercially astute, you will have at least 5 years sales and business development management experience with either a rubber/elastomer manufacturer or a business that provides a technical/engineered solution to any of the above markets.
- You’ll be hands-on with excellent sales, leadership and business management skills and a proven track record of delivering growth and profitability.
- Highly customer-focused with strong influencing, negotiating and communication skills, you will also be analytical, process-driven and with an eye for detail.
- Entrepreneurial with a can-do mindset, you will have the skills, drive and ambition to ultimately lead the business.
- Knowledge of materials, high value elastomers and their applications would be highly advantageous.
