The Role

We are currently recruiting for Seawater Support Assistants to provide flexible support across our Westray and Stronsay North Isles Seawater Sites. In this role, you will cover a wide range of varied duties across multiple sites as required. Responsibilities will include feeding, grading, fish husbandry, harvesting and general site maintenance. You will also carry out deckhand duties, including engine and on board generator oil checks, fuel and water checks, and ensuring all deck areas and vessels are kept clean and well maintained.

The successful candidate will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude and be comfortable integrating into different teams and working practices. This role is particularly suited to individuals who enjoy working outdoors in a marine environment, are passionate about animal welfare, and are flexible and adaptable, with the ability to travel between sites to meet operational needs.

Skills Required

  • Candidate must be flexible with working hours and days
  • Be a good team player but have the ability to work independently when required.
  • Inter-personal and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications Required

  • Sea Survival Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Firefighting Certificate
  • Boatmasters or an endorsed Powerboat Level 2 Certificate would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be required to hold and maintain an ML5 medical certificate.
