Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am -5pm

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

Who you are

You will be working towards CIPD or have enthusiasm for a career working in a People and Culture function.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working across COOK’s 4 Sittingbourne sites supporting and developing the work of the People Operations team
  • Acting as a friendly, approachable first point of contact for people-related questions whilst on each site
  • Employee Relations support
  • Assisting leaders during investigations and hearings
  • Letter writing, note taking, scheduling and accurate record keeping within existing frameworks
  • Ensuring consistency and fairness across our Sittingbourne sites
  • Assistance with Occupational Health referrals
  • Championing COOK’s values and helping create a positive, inclusive, and supportive culture across our Sittingbourne sites
  • Support our Culture Calendar using on site communication methods
  • Ensuring our communal areas have consistent messaging and themes

What You Bring

  • Enthusiasm to work in a HR role and gain experience with a varied ER caseload
  • Some experience working in operational and/or process focused environments
  • A proactive and people-first mindset, with the confidence to balance empathy and pragmatism
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships at all levels
  • An inquisitive mindset and eagerness to learn on the job
  • The ability to operate under different managerial styles
  • A good working knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations
  • A genuine passion for creating brilliant places to work

This role will operate across 4 sites across a large area in Sittingbourne, Kent, so it is expected that you will need to drive between these regularly. COOK is a 24 hour operation, so occasional night shift check ins are expected.
