Overview
Develop, communicate, and lead innovative training programs delivered to customers that align with the goals of Medical Education, and with the Division’s programs/specialties priorities, mission, vision and purpose, and overall company priorities to help our customers provide the best patient outcomes. Lead, support and develop direct reports. Drive consistency and collaboration between programs/specialties to align all Medical Education efforts. This position is field based.
Responsibilities
- Develop consistent education programs striving to make Cook Medical the most recommended educational resource.
- Strategize business plans for customer programs based on current and future product portfolio and procedural trends.
- Collaborate and align with all Medical Education stakeholders while always communicating and advocating for the Division’s overall program priorities.
- Work with Marketing and Divisional resources to develop content to support educational programs with appropriate messaging that meets customer and company needs and compliance and regulatory standards.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the strategy for Medical Education by monitoring metrics and listening to feedback from customers and employees. Take action and resolve issues and gaps quickly and effectively.
- Manage Medical Education budget for assigned geography and provide annual and quarterly activity/budget projections to leadership.
- Manage calendar of educational events to ensure structure and alignment with Medical Education goals.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, criteria, and qualifications for Training Program Specialists, attendees, programs and divisional representatives.
- Collaborate with division teams to provide support to effectively run Medical Education programs as well as identify opportunities for course improvements.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and feedback, both formally through the performance management process and informally through daily discussions and interactions in person and remotely, while recognizing employees for their contributions.
- Ensure that roles and responsibilities, performance expectations, and requirements are developed, clearly documented, and communicated to each employee.
- Cultivate a safe, secure, and supportive environment where employees can thrive and morale is maintained.
- Responsible for performance and wage reviews for team members.
- Meet deadlines and ensure employees complete administrative tasks such as expenses, training, reporting, policy acknowledgements, submission of performance reviews, etc. in a timely manner.
- Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization.
- Identify and develop current and future leadership team.

Qualifications
Required Experience: College degree in related field and/or equivalent relevant experience. Extensive experience leading training programs in the medical device industry.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience managing others. Demonstrate strong leadership skills. Demonstrate strong strategic business skills. Extensive experience in a clinical or training environments. Prior experience leading organizational change. Knowledge in training documentation systems/methods. Knowledge in adult learning theories including assessments and competency-based trainings. Model the company standards that others are expected to follow. Demonstrate positive and constructive behaviours that drive team cooperation in achieving market objectives. Must have effective oral and written communications skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Ability to travel domestic and internationally including weekends as needed up to 50%. Work under general office environmental conditions.
