Cook & Associates Lift Consultants provide professional advice and assistance on all aspects of installation, maintenance, and replacement of lifts and escalators. The experienced consultants have backgrounds in engineering, project management, and director-level positions within the lift and related industries.
We are seeking a knowledgeable and client-focused Lift Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert advice on the design, installation, maintenance, and modernisation of lift (elevator) systems for a diverse range of clients. You'll act as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all solutions are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and tailored to client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on the selection, specification, and design of lift and escalator systems for new build and refurbishment projects.
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, and audits to assess existing lift installations and recommend improvements or modernisation solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and tender documentation.
- Oversee and manage lift installation or modernisation projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations (e.g., EN 81, BS 7255, LOLER).
- Liaise with architects, building owners, contractors, and lift manufacturers to deliver optimal solutions.
- Review and evaluate contractor bids, and assist clients with contractor selection.
- Monitor project progress, conduct quality checks, and provide ongoing technical support.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Lift Consultant, Lift Engineer, or similar role in the lift/elevator industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of lift systems, components, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- Ability to prepare clear technical documentation and reports.
- Relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services preferred).
