Location: Gillingham, Kent – COOK Logistics

Contract: October 2026 – 1st week of January 2027

Shifts: Various shift patterns available

Rota: Provided 1 month in advance

Pay: Day shift £14 per hour / Night shift £15.50 per hour

We are looking for reliable and hardworking Home Delivery Pickers & Packers to join our team for the busy seasonal period from October 2026 through to the first week of January 2027.

You will play an important role in making sure our customers receive the correct products in their orders, packed carefully and ready for delivery.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, takes pride in accuracy and likes having a varied working day.

What You'll Be Doing

Your day will be split between order picking in our cold store and packing customer orders in the packing area.

Picking Customer Orders

  • Pick individual customer orders accurately using the warehouse system.
  • Select the correct products and quantities for each customer.
  • Work safely in a -18°C cold store environment while picking.
  • Check products carefully to ensure the order is complete and accurate.
  • Handle products with care and maintain high quality standards.

Packing Customer Orders

After picking, you will spend part of your working day in the packing area, preparing individual customer orders for home delivery.

  • Pack customer orders carefully and securely.
  • Ensure the correct products are included in each order.
  • Carry out final checks before orders are dispatched.
  • Organise completed orders ready for delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised packing area.

Working in a Cold Store

As part of the role, you will spend some time working in a -18°C cold store while picking customer orders.

High-quality thermal PPE will be provided

High-quality thermal PPE will be provided to help keep you warm and protected.

The amount of time spent in the cold store will vary depending on the day's workload, with the remainder of your shift spent in the packing area.

What We're Looking For

Previous warehouse experience is an advantage but not essential. We are looking for people who are:

  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Comfortable working in a -18°C environment with the PPE provided.
  • Able to work accurately and at a good pace.
  • Physically able to lift and move products safely.
  • Comfortable working on their feet for extended periods.
  • Detail-oriented, particularly when picking individual customer orders.
  • Positive, hardworking and willing to learn.
  • Good at following instructions and working as part of a team.
  • Available to work the required shift pattern, including increased hours during December.

December Availability

December is our busiest period, so the working pattern will increase to 6 days per week, with the possibility of working 7 days when required.

This may include one or two additional working days each week that would normally be scheduled days off. Additional days will be allocated and communicated in advance.

Annual leave will not be permitted during December due to seasonal demand.
