We are looking for an Apprentice Legal Assistant to join our Private Client team at Coodes. This is a great opportunity for someone starting their career in law who is organised, keen to learn and ready to develop practical skills while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
Our Private Client team advises on matters such as wills, probate and estate administration, powers of attorney, trusts and planning for the future. You will support lawyers with day-to-day administration and client care, building a strong foundation for a long-term career in legal services.
You will do:
- Handle initial enquiries coming in to the team whether online, by telephone or in person, including booking appointments and diary management.
- Provide administrative support to the Private Client team, primarily for an allocated lawyer, including file opening and progressing matters under supervision.
- Make and receive telephone calls to and from clients and other third parties, draft emails, letters and documents under supervision.
- Support casework throughout its lifecycle, from file opening to file closing, gaining insight into matter progression.
Experience and Qualifications you need:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs which must include English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
- A-Level in Law (desirable but not essential).
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner, alongside good attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Reliable, flexible, and conscientious, with good organisational skills and a positive, team‑focused attitude.
- Motivated to study alongside work, take ownership of personal development, and build skills through the apprenticeship (previous legal experience is not essential as full training will be provided).

This is a full time position. 35 hours a week Monday to Friday.
