Are you a talented and ambitious Chef, looking for a unique position which will provide you with a diverse range of opportunities in a fast-paced, quality-driven and varied organisation? From planning and running conference banquets to ensuring our 60-cover restaurant delights our customers, you will find that every day is different and that your excellent culinary skills are constantly put to good use. Don’t worry if you haven’t got full experience in every element of our F&B service, we want to hear from people who have exciting ideas, can lead a team and who are keen to develop their career.

Responsibilities

  • You will be leading a kitchen brigade of 9 staff, making sure that Food Hygiene and General Health & Safety are prioritised alongside skills development and staff morale.
  • As a key player in our Theatres and Events teams, you will be an excellent networker, team player and a positive, innovative thinker.
  • Working on a shift basis, you will make sure that you and your team have a good work-life balance.
  • The hours are 37 hours a week, on an averaged, annualised hours basis.
  • You will also benefit from enhanced pay at the weekends, on bank holidays and after 9pm weekdays.
  • In addition, we are not open on Christmas day or New Years Day with limited Sunday working.

The successful applicant will be joining us at Venue Cymru, the region's busiest arts and events centre, comprising of a 1,500 seat theatre, 2,500 capacity arena and a full range of high quality conference and event spaces. We present a diverse arts programme, from West End Shows to our own Young Creatives performances, and host high profile conferences and events throughout the year.

Language Skills

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post. We are committed to our Welsh language and are proud of our Welsh culture.
