Responsibilities:
- You will be supporting individuals with learning and physical disabilities to have choice, control, and a voice, and support them to develop skills toward their longer term future.
- You will plan and implement imaginative activities that help to develop skills.
- You will work as part of a team in our Day Services and in the community.
- You would need to motivate and support people to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support health and wellbeing such as:
- w walks
- quizzes
- IT skills
- swimming
- baking
- cooking
- photography
- crafts
Qualifications:
- Understanding of how people communicate feelings through behaviour.
- ‘Can do’ attitude and ability to adapt skills.
- Creative and open-minded approach.
- Resilience and ability to stay calm during good and bad days.
- Capability to work unsociable hours such as weekends and evenings.
- Ability to communicate in English; proficiency in Welsh is desirable.
- 2 satisfactory references and a DBS check.
Training & Induction:
You will undertake an induction programme and attend specialist training to acquire all the skills needed to provide the best opportunities for the individuals you support.
Language Skills:
The ability to communicate in English is necessary. Proficiency in Welsh is desirable and support for learning Welsh is provided at all levels.
