Conwy County Borough Council is looking for a skilled and motivated Environment Manager to help deliver high-quality countryside, biodiversity, and public greenspace services across the county. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading teams, improving services, and making a visible difference to local places and communities.
Working within our Environment, Roads and Facilities service, you’ll oversee day-to-day operations, support the delivery of key projects, and help ensure our outdoor spaces are safe, attractive and sustainably managed.
- Manage and coordinate daily operations across open spaces, countryside sites, biodiversity work and green infrastructure projects.
- Motivate and develop multi-disciplinary teams, promoting a positive and safe working culture.
- Manage budgets and ensure good financial controls are in place.
- Use data, digital tools and asset management systems to support continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, communities and partner organisations.
- Respond to enquiries, complaints and service issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Take part in the Out-of-Hours Duty Officer rota, including winter service decision-making.
Knowledge of biodiversity, countryside, trees or greenspace management is essential. A good understanding of health & safety and risk management is required. The ability to travel around the county and work flexibly, including some out-of-hours duties, is necessary.
