What the job involves
- Prepare and maintain systems and records for Council Tax, including computer applications
- Respond to written and verbal enquiries from the public or their representatives in line with financial legislation, service standards and the Data Protection Act
- Maximise income and encourage take-up of discounts, disability reductions, exemptions, benefits and allowances by those entitled
- Interview members of the public and arrange settlement of sums outstanding
- Offer debt counselling when required
