Work base: Conwy Leisure Centres
An opportunity has arisen for casual employment within Conwy County Borough Council’s leisure facilities. The hours of work will be on an ad hoc basis and possibly at short notice and will include daytime, evening, weekend and Bank Holiday working at any leisure centre within Conwy.
Ideally applicants must hold a current RLSS certificate in order to perform lifeguarding duties, however we are also eager to recruit and support enthusiastic individuals who are committed to undertaking the training and qualification which will be provided. The post will also involve:
- Setting up and dismantling sports equipment
- Receptionist duties
- General cleaning duties
- Supervising birthday parties
Casual Operation Assistant will need to have the ability to work in both a team environment and be able to use their own initiative. Good communication skills in English are essential and in order to balance the skills within the team the ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is essential for 3 posts and desirable for the rest of the posts.
Applicants will be required to attend a formal interview and undertake a swim test. There will also be a requirement to attend monthly lifeguard training. Due to the nature of the work, the posts are subject to a satisfactory disclosure check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Welsh Language Skills: The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post. We are committed to our Welsh language and are proud of our Welsh culture.
