Department: Underwriting – Insurance Location: London, UK Description Convex adopts a data and technology-driven approach to underwriting, enabling more stakeholder interaction and rapid decision-making. The role involves underwriting US Open Market (D&F) Property business, setting terms, developing the property portfolio, and managing stakeholder relationships. Key Responsibilities Underwrite US D&F Property business within delegated authority. Set terms and lead business negotiations with claims and legal support. Assist in developing the property portfolio and strategy. Manage relationships with clients, brokers, and internal teams. Build and maintain networks for new business opportunities. Report on market intelligence and sector developments. Collaborate across teams to meet shared goals. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise Experience in London market underwriting, particularly US Property or related classes. Alternative experience as a broker, assistant underwriter, or actuary in US Direct & Facultative. Professional qualifications like ACII or FIA are advantageous. Strong numerical, analytical, and data-driven skills. Collaborative, proactive, and relationship-building abilities. Ability to represent Convex at international events.
