About the role
As a Mobile QA Automation Engineer, you will work closely with engineers, product managers and designers across the UK, Ireland, the US, Poland and Latin America. You will take ownership of quality throughout the full software development lifecycle, from sprint planning through to release. This is an ongoing recruitment opportunity, reflecting our continued growth and the recurring need for expertise in mobile quality engineering.
What you will do
- Contribute to quality from the earliest stages of development, including sprint planning and backlog refinement
- Design, write and execute automated and manual test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria
- Develop and maintain automated mobile tests using XCUITest, Espresso and/or Detox
- Perform end‐to‐end testing across iOS and Android applications
- Collaborate with engineers globally to write clear, maintainable acceptance tests in a BDD style
- Analyse complex systems and define effective testing strategies
- Work closely with development and test engineering teams through peer reviews, pair programming and shared quality practices
- Support delivery of high‐quality solutions across industries such as consumer finance and retail
Required experience and skills
- Programming experience in Swift, Kotlin or JavaScript
- Strong experience designing and developing automated tests
- Hands‐on experience with at least one of the following:
- Detox for React Native UI testing
- XCUITest (Swift)
- Espresso (Kotlin)
- Experience executing tests using Xcode and/or Android Studio
- Understanding of RESTful APIs (XML/JSON) and associated tools such as Charles Proxy or Fiddler
- Experience with test planning and writing structured test cases
- Familiarity with CI/CD toolchains such as Bitrise, Fastlane or TestFlight
- Experience working with Jira in an Agile delivery environment
- Experience working in cross‐functional, distributed teams (Desired)
