At Convergence Group, we believe great business performance starts with great people. That's why we've created our Performance POD model - bringing together managers, Performance Partners, Business Intelligence and Business Analysts to make better decisions, develop capability and improve performance across the business. Now we’re looking for a Head of Performance Partners to lead our team and take that model to the next level.
This isn't a role where you'll spend your days writing strategy documents. It's a hands-on leadership role where you'll be visible across the business, coaching your team, partnering with managers and helping create a culture where performance, accountability and development become part of everyday life. If you enjoy developing people, influencing leaders and making a genuine commercial impact, you'll fit right in.
The pace and intensity are higher than most environments in our sector. The workload is typically around 30% greater than many people will have experienced elsewhere - not because we are chaotic, but because we are ambitious and constantly building. We grow organically and through acquisition, continuously integrating, improving and raising the bar. The landscape evolves, priorities shift, and expectations rise. If you prefer a predictable, static environment, this probably won’t feel comfortable. If you are energised by growth, movement and high standards, it can be deeply rewarding.
Your strengths will have a bigger platform here - and you will be stretched behaviourally more than in most environments. We value respectful honesty: anyone can challenge an idea; hierarchy doesn’t protect thinking and getting it right matters more than being right. Ego doesn’t perform well here; curiosity, learning and ownership do. We hire people who are already strong at their craft - the stretch at Convergence Group is navigating pace, complexity and constant evolution. This environment isn’t for everyone, but for the right person it offers an exceptional opportunity for impact, growth and accelerated development.
What you'll be doing as our Head of Performance Partners:
- Lead from the front - Coach, develop and inspire our team of Performance Partners to become trusted, commercially-minded advisors
- Get into the business - Work alongside Performance Partners and managers to embed our Performance POD model across every function
- Build better managers - Support leaders with performance, capability and development conversations that strengthen their teams
- Turn insight into action - Use data and business insight to identify trends, close capability gaps and improve performance
- Drive consistency - Share best practice and ensure every Performance POD delivers a high-quality, consistent service
- Keep improving - Continuously refine the way we develop people, support managers and help the business perform
What we’re looking for:
- You’ll probably already be working in a senior People, HR Business Partner or Business Partnering leadership role and be looking for a role where you can have a bigger influence on business performance.
- You’ll bring:
- Experience leading, coaching and developing Business Partners or similar people professionals
- Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to challenge constructively
- A passion for developing managers and building high performance teams
- Experience embedding new ways of working and leading organisational change
- The ability to use data and insight to make better decisions
- A practical, hands-on approach - you enjoy being in the business rather than watching from the sidelines
- CIPD Level 5 as a minimum (Level 7 would be a bonus)
You’ll know you’re making an impact when:
- Our Performance Partners are confident, consistent and trusted across the business
- Managers take ownership of performance, capability and development
- Performance PODs are operating consistently across the business
- Capability gaps are identified early and proactively addressed
- Recruitment is driven by workforce planning instead of reactive hiring
- Senior leaders have the insight they need to make better decisions
- Most importantly, your team becomes recognised as a genuine driver of business performance - not simply a support function.
What you’ll get:
- Salary: £80-95,000 for experienced A players
- Time off: 33 days holiday, including bank holidays
- Benefits: Private Medical, enhanced Pension, Income Protection & Life Assurance
- Hybrid working: with 3 days a week in the Solihull office & flexible core hours
- Dog friendly office
