As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Head of Project Management Office (PMO) to establish and lead a high-performing PMO that will shape the future of project delivery across our Technology & Services function. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic leader who can combine commercial awareness with operational excellence, ensuring projects are delivered consistently, predictably, and with exceptional customer outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Create and embed a best-in-class Project Management Office that drives governance, consistency, and delivery excellence across our portfolio of customer projects.
- Define and lead the PMO strategy, operating model, governance, and delivery standards.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and to the highest quality.
- Provide portfolio oversight, reporting, forecasting, and delivery assurance.
- Implement and embed project management methodologies including PRINCE2, Agile, and Hybrid approaches.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers and PMO professionals.
- Partner closely with Sales, Pre-Sales, Consultancy, Engineering, Finance, and Risk teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Manage portfolio priorities, capacity planning, financial performance, and delivery risks.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex delivery challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement, increasing PMO maturity and delivery capability across the business.
What We're Looking For: We're looking for an experienced PMO leader who thrives on building capability, driving governance, influencing stakeholders, and delivering measurable business outcomes across a technology services environment. You will have significant experience leading or transforming a Project Management Office within an MSP, IT Services provider, Systems Integrator, or Technology Services organisation. You'll be comfortable establishing PMO functions from the ground up, implementing robust governance frameworks, centralised portfolio reporting, and executive-level dashboards that provide clear business insight.
You will also bring:
- Essential:
- Significant experience leading a PMO within an IT or Technology Services environment.
- A proven track record of building, establishing or transforming PMO functions.
- Experience implementing project governance, delivery frameworks, portfolio reporting, executive dashboards, and project controls.
- Direct leadership experience managing Project Managers and Programme Managers.
- Personal accountability for the successful delivery of complex technology projects and programmes, including budget, resource, risk, quality, and stakeholder management.
- Strong commercial and financial management experience across project portfolios.
- Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) in Project Management, Technology Delivery, or a related discipline.
- Desirable:
- PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP and/or Agile certifications.
- ILM Level 5 or Level 7 Leadership qualification.
- Experience leading organisational change and improving PMO maturity.
