We are seeking a practical, reliable, and proactive Maintenance Operative to join our Operations team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Based at our Stafford HQ, you will play a key role in maintaining our facilities, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and professionally presented for employees, customers, and visitors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with maintenance, facilities, caretaking, or handyman experience who enjoys a varied, hands-on role and takes pride in delivering high standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Completing basic plumbing, painting, decorating, carpentry, and general handyman tasks.
- Conducting site inspections and identifying maintenance requirements.
- Maintaining external areas, pathways, car parks, and communal spaces.
- Supporting planned preventative maintenance activities.
- Assisting with fire safety checks and emergency preparedness activities.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests across the site.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with health and safety requirements.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, caretaking, or handyman role.
- Experience carrying out general building maintenance and repairs.
- Competence in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, flexible, and professional approach to work.
Desirable
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Fire Marshal or Fire Warden qualification.
- Experience working with fire alarm systems, access control systems, or intruder alarms.
