Converge is seeking a customer-focused and technically skilled Field Engineer to join our Engineering team. About the Role
As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for providing onsite warranty break/fix repairs, installations, and de-installations for desktop PCs, laptops, and servers across our customer base. You will be at the forefront of Converge's customer support strategy, ensuring customers receive prompt, professional, and effective service throughout the warranty lifecycle of their devices. Working closely with customers, the call allocation team, and internal support functions, you will play a key role in maintaining high service standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.
What You'll Be Doing
- Attend and complete all allocated break/fix repairs and service calls.
- Carry out installations and de-installations of desktops, laptops, and server equipment.
- Ensure job details are accurately updated before leaving customer premises.
- Maintain regular communication with the call allocation team throughout the day.
- Ensure parts are correctly labelled and prepared for return to Head Office.
- Build positive relationships with customers and deliver a professional service experience.
- Keep customers informed of repair progress and resolution timescales.
- Ensure customers are left with a working device or clear information regarding next steps.
- Comply with company management systems, health and safety procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Support company sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as requested by the Engineering leadership team.
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical troubleshooting capabilities with excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently in a field-based environment. You'll bring:
- Previous field service or hardware repair experience.
- Strong knowledge of laptop and desktop break/fix methodologies.
