We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Bid Specialist to join our Solution Sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the short, medium and long term acquisition of customer projects including but not limited to education frameworks. They will work closely with the Sales team, Pre-sales and Professional services team and be an exceptional, persuasive and versatile writer, with a high degree of attention to detail – drafting, editing and proof-reading bids, technical documentation and supporting material.

Overview:

We are a growing award-winning technology company seeking a Bid Specialist to drive successful bids and win rates in collaboration with Sales, Pre-sales and Professional Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with opportunity leads, sales, subject matter experts, architects and project teams to establish key messages and win themes for each bid.
  • Produce winning tenders by writing compelling responses to customer questions and requirements.
  • Lead all bid engagement for Free school bids; research and attend meetings to understand customer requirements and bring bid/tender responses to life.
  • Coordinate and manage the bid process to ensure timely and organised submissions.
  • Manage the bid process to deliver against key performance metrics, with a focus on new business sales.

  • Accountability for a gross profit target
  • Customer acquisition
  • Maintain a high bid-to-win ratio
  • High forecasting accuracy

Person Specification:

Essential Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A degree in a related subject and/or professional qualifications would be advantageous
  • Full valid driving licence as UK travel is required
  • Demonstrable experience in direct sales/account management in technology in the public sector
  • Skilled solution seller with proven ability to create winning proposals
  • Outstanding presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to articulate a solution to multiple stakeholders
  • Experience providing accurate forecasting using CRM
  • Experience working on multiple bids simultaneously

Desired Experience:

  • Clear track record of sales achievement against targets
  • Experience designing and drafting bids for submission to new builds and education establishments is desirable

This is a full time position - 37 hours per week - Hybrid.
