This role is ideal for someone with 5+ years of experience in B2B sales or account management who is ready to take ownership of a portfolio, deepen client relationships, and make a tangible impact on business growth and client success.

The Role:

As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of high-value business clients, acting as a trusted partner throughout their journey with Convera. You’ll combine relationship management, commercial ownership, and strategic problem-solving to help clients navigate international payments, foreign exchange, and risk management solutions. The foreign exchange and international payments landscape is fast-moving and complex. Our clients rely on us to help them manage cross-border transactions efficiently while delivering the right balance of digital self-service tools and expert support. In this role, you’ll have direct responsibility for driving revenue growth, retention, and client engagement across your portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management & Client Growth
    • Own and grow a portfolio of upper SMB clients, building strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
    • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business, objectives, and international payment requirements.
    • Act as a trusted advisor, identifying opportunities to deliver additional value through Convera’s products and services.
    • Drive portfolio retention and expansion through proactive relationship management and regular client engagement.
  • Business Development & Revenue Generation
    • Follow up on inbound leads and proactively engage prospective clients through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other communication channels.
    • Identify opportunities to increase wallet share and generate incremental revenue across your portfolio.
    • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities while executing against revenue and activity targets.
    • Collaborate closely with Business Development Managers to support the onboarding and early-stage development of new clients.
  • Solution Selling & Client Enablement
    • Deliver tailored solutions across foreign exchange, international payments, and risk management products.
    • Help clients maximise the value of Convera’s platform by promoting self-service capabilities while providing expert guidance when required.
    • Educate clients on market developments, product enhancements, and solutions that can support their business objectives.
    • Support clients in adopting new technologies and digital tools that improve efficiency and drive better outcomes.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Execute a disciplined commercial playbook, balancing proactive outreach, pipeline management, client engagement, and portfolio reviews.
    • Maintain accurate client records and activity tracking through CRM and sales enablement platforms.
    • Leverage technology, data, and AI-powered tools to improve productivity and client outcomes.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a commercially minded relationship manager who combines strong client engagement skills with a disciplined, results-driven approach. You enjoy building long-term partnerships, understand how to uncover growth opportunities, and are comfortable managing a portfolio with revenue responsibility. You’re proactive, accountable, and confident working independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Take ownership and are motivated by delivering measurable results.
  • Have a strong commercial mindset and enjoy identifying growth opportunities.
  • Balance relationship-building with disciplined activity management.
  • Are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Embrace technology and continuously look for smarter ways of working.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels within an organisation.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Must Have

  • 4+ years of experience in B2B sales, account management, or relationship management.
  • 2+ years of experience within cross-border payments, foreign exchange, financial services, or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of customer buying journeys, ideal customer profiles (ICPs), and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio or book of business with revenue and/or quota responsibility.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and sales enablement tools such as Salesforce, Gong, Highspot, or similar technologies.
  • Strong digital literacy and a passion for leveraging technology and AI tools to enhance performance.
  • Fluent in English.
