Based at our Convera office in London, you will work with our dealing teams to uncover and close upside‑hedging opportunities from the Transition and Core client books, or with the New Business Sales teams and Dealers to onboard new customers to Convera and transact hedging business thereafter.
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Advising and dealing clients hedging risk using our suite of derivative products.
- Mentoring other team members.
- Contributing to market commentary both internally and externally.
- Representing the business at client functions and in the media, and working with other internal stakeholders to shape and guide the future direction of the business.
- Making effective use of the full suite of FX hedging solutions to build long‑term, mutually beneficial and profitable relationships with clients.
- Understanding often complex requirements of larger corporate clients, FX options, and their role in hedging strategies, the broader derivatives market and the economy as a whole.
- Applying your knowledge to question clients to uncover needs and objectives, then confidently articulating your views and opinions to arrive at a conclusion and then advise the client accordingly.
You Should Apply If You Have:
- Extensive experience in a Corporate Hedging / Options Dealer / FX role.
- A deep technical understanding of global financial markets with a specific focus on FX, but also a good understanding of interest rates, money markets and commodities.
- Working knowledge of hedge accounting rules, compliance topics such as MiFID II, ESMA, EMIR and others is essential.
- Solid experience in advising B2B customers by phone, email or in face‑to‑face meetings.
- Experience in operating at corporate Board level, and able to relate to the needs of our smaller SME customers – experience of both would be ideal.
- A consultative approach, but also the natural instinct to close a deal.
- You need to be able to demonstrate a proven track record of success.
- Experience in achieving KPIs (annual revenue target).
- Experience of being in a lead role and supporting your team to achieve their goals. This will require a degree of people management, although they may not be direct reports.
- Experience in collaborating closely with Compliance teams.
