Conventus is working with a leading defence and national security organisation to find an experienced ServiceNow Solution Architect for a high-profile digital transformation programme. This permanent role is based in Farnborough on a hybrid basis. You'll be the technical authority for an on premise ServiceNow platform. You will design scalable, secure solutions that support mission critical services, working in a highly secure environment. We would also welcome applications from Senior ServiceNow Developers with strong on premise experience who are ready to step into an architecture role. The role Lead the end-to-end design of on premise ServiceNow solutions, from requirements gathering through to delivery and handover Act as design authority for the platform, producing high and low level designs and making sure solutions follow best practice and ServiceNow's recommended architecture Work with infrastructure teams on the design, deployment and upgrade of self-hosted ServiceNow instances Work with stakeholders, product owners and delivery teams to turn business needs into robust technical solutions Design and oversee integrations with third-party and legacy systems in secure and accredited environments Shape platform governance, standards and roadmaps, keeping to the out-of-the-box approach wherever possible Provide technical leadership and mentoring to developers and administrators Support security accreditation activity and make sure designs meet the security requirements of classified environments Essential Experience/ Skills Active DV clearance and British nationality Proven experience of on premise ServiceNow implementations Hands-on experience of on premise infrastructure supporting ServiceNow, such as servers, databases, networking, MID Servers and upgrades in self-hosted environments Proven experience as a ServiceNow Solution Architect, Technical Architect or Senior Developer on large, complex implementations Strong knowledge of core ServiceNow modules, such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB/CSDM, and ideally SecOps. Experience designing integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers and IntegrationHub A solid understanding of platform governance, data models and upgrade strategy Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences Experience in defence, government or other secure environments Desirable ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) qualifications ServiceNow architecture certification, such as Certified Master Architect (CMA) or Certified Technical Architect (CTA) ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) qualification TOGAF or a similar architecture framework Experience of air-gapped or offline ServiceNow instances What's on offer A salary of Β£100,000 + benefits A permanent role with long-term stability on a critical national security programme Hybrid working, with time split between home and the Farnborough site A clear route into architecture for experienced senior developers Pension, bonus, holiday allowance, training and certification budget, etc. Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be British nationals and hold active DV clearance at the time of application.
