Our client is keen to hire a Graduate Business Marketing Executive and are clear they are deliberately not looking for a ready-made Marketing Manager. We are looking for someone early in their career who wants the chance to grow into one. Our work, our clients, and our market are specialist and unusual, and the most successful people in our company are those who learn on the job, take responsibility early, and develop capability through doing. We find most success when we do not hire off the shelf but instead focus on making and moulding people with potential. We do this successfully with our consultants. We now want to do the same with marketing. If you are looking for a clearly defined, narrow marketing role, or a career in digital marketing, this position will not suit you. If, however, you are motivated by responsibility, learning fast, and taking on a role you are not yet fully qualified for - but believe you can grow into - this will be an exceptional opportunity.

The role: You will be the sole marketing role in the business, reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will be responsible for the full range of marketing activity, with clear direction, high standards, and close support, particularly in the early stages. This is a hands-on role. You will be expected to try things, learn new skills, and take initiative, while following direction carefully and paying close attention to detail. Over time, the role is intended to grow into a Marketing Manager position as your capability and confidence develop. This is not a digital marketing role. We do not focus on SEO, email campaigns, YouTube, Instagram, or influencer-led content.

Marketing responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and improving website (small, specialist site).
  • Managing LinkedIn presence and basic company communications.
  • Supporting branding and visual consistency across materials.
  • Working with external suppliers (designers, printers, stand builders) where appropriate.
  • Event selection support and value assessment.
  • Stand design coordination and contractor liaison.
  • Travel and logistics planning.
  • On-site presence at selected international events.
  • Lead capture and post-event follow-up coordination.
  • Ensuring events deliver tangible commercial and relationship value.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of occasional in-house events.
  • Learning what relationship marketing means in a professional services context.
  • Helping develop a structured approach to maintaining and strengthening client relationships.
  • Supporting marketing strategy thinking rather than purely execution.
  • Researching industry and market trends using public information.
  • Building basic client profiles and relationship maps.
  • Conducting competitor analysis and positioning reviews.
  • Contributing insight to support commercial decision-making.

Skills development:

  • Self-teaching Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
  • Using dedicated time provided for learning and development.

What success looks like:

  • Reliable, organised execution.
  • Smooth, value-driven events.
  • Consistent, professional marketing activity.
  • Growing understanding of the business and market in the medium term.
  • Shaping marketing activity, not just delivering it.
  • Providing insight on clients, competitors, and positioning.
  • Natural evolution into a Marketing Manager role.

Why join us:

  • Direct access to and mentoring from the senior leadership team.
  • Real responsibility from day one.
  • International exposure early in your career.
  • A role that grows with your capability.
  • A business that invests in people who show commitment and potential.

Essential skills/experience:

  • A recent or upcoming graduate (or equivalent early-career experience).
  • Degree in marketing, business, management, or a related discipline.
  • High personal standards and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Willingness to follow direction precisely and ask good questions.
  • Strong initiative and comfort taking responsibility.
  • Ambition and the belief that you can accelerate your career if you are given the opportunity.
  • Right to work in the UK without a visa.

Desirable experience:

  • Exposure to events, projects, or coordination roles.
  • Interest in professional services, consultancy, or B2B environments.
  • Evidence of self-directed learning.
