ConvenientMD is seeking a dedicated Paramedic, who is a nationally registered EMT to join our team as an Urgent Care Technician. As a vital clinical team member, you will play an integral role in providing high‑quality care to our patients, working alongside medical providers, and contributing to a supportive, collaborative environment.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Paramedic with the ability to work 12‑hour shifts in a fast‑paced urgent care setting.
Your Impact
- Patient Care & Triage: Conduct comprehensive patient triage by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and performing observational examinations to identify immediate healthcare needs. Assist with patient exams, ensuring all necessary equipment and documentation are prepared, while supporting providers during testing and procedures.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform diagnostic and testing procedures, including vision, hearing, drug screens, breath alcohol testing, spirometry, and more. Execute point‑of‑care testing such as strep, flu, RSV, SARS‑CoV‑2, glucose, lipid panel, and urinalysis. Provide cardiac and airway management, including ECGs, AED use, nebulizer treatments, and oxygen administration. Deliver wound care assessments, immunizations, and medication administration per federal and state regulations.
- Patient Engagement & Documentation: Assist with patient inquiries, communicate test results, and explain medication or therapy plans. Maintain accurate electronic medical records, documenting patient histories and treatment details. Observe and report changes in patients' conditions, taking necessary action as needed.
- Clinic Operations: Ensure medical instruments and equipment are clean, sterilized, and maintained per organizational policies. Maintain a stocked and sterile workspace, supporting smooth clinic operations.
- Collaboration with Clinical Team: Work closely with other members of the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care. Communicate effectively and efficiently with providers and other healthcare professionals to relay patient information and updates. Welcome and support the training of new team clinic members.
Required Availability
- Shift Work: Full‑time: three (3) 12‑hour shifts a week with at least four (4) shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday. Part‑time: two (2) 12‑hour shifts per week with at least two (2) shifts a month on a Saturday or Sunday. Per diem: four (4) 12‑hour shifts per month, ideally working one (1) shift each week. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work at a minimum of three (3) other ConvenientMD locations within a one (1) hour travel distance from your primary clinic. Required to travel for training shifts that may occur outside of your primary clinic within a one (1) hour commute.
Who You Are
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification and Experience: Licensed paramedic (preferably nationally certified) with prior experience placing and monitoring IVs. BLS Certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support. CPR, ACLS, or online‑only classes are not accepted.
