The Director, National Accounts will be responsible for developing and leading the execution of a holistic National Account Management strategy for key UK- and European-based accounts. This highly strategic and visible role is crucial for maximizing revenue yield through deep client engagement and expanding existing partnerships across all CHG brands and products. The Director, National Accounts reports to the Vice President of Enterprise Strategy and collaborates with UK regional commercial leaders as well as global teams.
What You’ll Do- Cultivate and maintain lasting, senior-level relationships with UK-based enterprise accounts to drive net incremental revenue and sustained partnerships.
- Establish, implement, and execute a holistic Account-based Sales Strategy, including building comprehensive Account Plans to map organizational structure and identify key leadership across all portfolio opportunities (Meetings and Workplace).
- Lead the negotiation and execution of complex contracts, including event agreements, preferred partnership, and master services agreements.
- Work collaboratively across the Global Sales Organization, with local and regional sales teams to develop and manage pipeline and convert opportunities as account and opportunity teams.
- Work cross-functionally with Strategic Partnerships, Revenue Management, Marketing, and Operations partners, globally, to ensure client satisfaction, sustained partnerships, and growth.
- Work with CHG Real Estate teams to identify new market opportunities based on global account data and client’s needs with respect to their growth and expansion strategies.
- This role will require travel (domestically and internationally) to meet with clients, visit CHG venues, and participate in industry and trade events.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Sales, with a minimum of 5+ years in a complex and/or multi-unit strategic account management environment.
- Experience in the hospitality or events industry with strong existing relationships with clients and channel partners.
- Proven account management ability and a strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail; the ability to understand the overall business and strategy, and drive execution of strategy into tactical action.
- Proven track record in Sales and Negotiation including experience qualifying, negotiating, and executing preferred partnership or master services agreements.
- Demonstrated success as a proven closer and collaborative (enterprise) seller with a history of closing high-value deals.
- Ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships, with a proven ability to create strong and productive relationships at senior buyer levels within an organization.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- A growth mindset, flexibility and an ability to thrive in an extremely fast-paced, high-growth, dynamic on-site work environment.
- A passion for events, travel, and for being face-to-face with clients and partners; this role requires the ability to travel – sometimes internationally – up to 15 days per month.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- High degree of personal drive and able to pursue one’s own intuition and vision.
- Exceptional track record of leadership with a willingness to be a player more often than a coach.
- A demonstrated ability to influence and inspire colleagues irrespective of reporting lines.
- Responsive to demands from multiple internal and external stakeholder groups; ability to prioritize objectives in alignment with company and area goals.
- Competence and confidence in negotiating business terms in complex agreements and effective internal collaboration with Legal, Revenue Management, and Commercial leadership teams.
- Must be challenging and diplomatic; works with integrity and drives mutual accountability and partnerships with clients.
This role is also eligible for Convene's sales commission program.
