What You'll Do
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing, delivering, and presenting all food and beverages, aiming for the highest level of client service within budget.
- Food Preparation
- Ensure prompt service of all meals and services at required times, meeting company standards and delegate satisfaction.
- Under the Head Chef's instruction, prepare and present food for restaurant consumption and be available during service periods.
- Ensure preparation and presentation methods comply with current recognised catering standards, under the Head Chef's guidance.
- Prepare and assist at special functions, which may fall outside normal working hours.
- Operational and Customer Service
- Attend daily menu briefings.
- Promptly respond to client requests and comments, reporting them to the Head Chef.
- Assist the Head Chef with serving at hot counters, ensuring catering standards are met, operations run in accordance with the booking schedule, and all client requirements are met and exceeded.
- Work alongside the front-of-house team to ensure an effective stock rotation system within the department.
- Accurately record wastage and, under the Head Chef's guidance, take appropriate steps to minimise it.
- Health & Safety
- Adhere to all venue and statutory regulations pertaining to health, safety, and fire at all times.
- Maintain a standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with venue and statutory regulations.
- Wear the correct standard of dress or uniform at all times.
- Adhere to company and statutory regulations pertaining to safety and hygiene operations of the kitchen and ancillary areas at all times.
- Immediately report any defective and hazardous equipment to the Head Chef.
- Ensure stores and other areas of potential loss are secured at all times.
- Immediately report any loss to the General Manager.
- Adhere to all regulations pertaining to COSHH and HACCP at all times.
- Other Responsibilities
- Carry out any reasonable management requests, including duties normally undertaken by the Chef de Partie in their absence.
- Build good working relationships with all other areas of the venue team.
- Support the venue team, including assisting with client events that may fall outside of normal working hours and weekends.
- Attend any company events as requested.
