What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for washing kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and cutlery using dishwashers and sinks.
- Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean according to schedule and company health and safety requirements.
- Assist the chef brigade with general food preparation and basic food service when required.
General Daily Duties:
- Responsible for the general cleaning of all kitchen areas to required standards as laid out in the cleaning schedule.
- Ensure all utensils are returned to their respective places after washing.
- Kitchen areas are swept at regular intervals.
- All bins are emptied at regular intervals throughout the day, and all rubbish is taken to refuse containers located by the back stairs. This must be done again as a last job in the evening.
- Operate dishwash machines safely as instructed, ensuring water is changed regularly.
- Ensure the chemical cupboard is kept clean, locked after use, and report any damage to the Head Chef immediately.
- Prepare and assist at special functions which may fall outside normal working hours.
- Help the chef brigade with basic food preparation and service, as well as any other reasonable tasks requested by the team.
Health & Safety Regulations:
- Ensure company procedures and statutory requirements pertaining to food operations, health & safety, COSHH, and fire are strictly adhered to.
- Ensure a standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with etc.venues and statutory regulations, wearing the correct standard of uniform at all times.
- All catering areas are left clean and tidy as is reasonably practical at all times.
- Report any loss immediately to the Head Chef.
Customer Care:
- Take all possible steps to deliver first‑class customer service at all times and in all circumstances and ensure excellent standards of customer care are achieved in the catering area.
- Maintain a courteous and professional manner and attitude towards clients and colleagues throughout the working day.
- Familiarise yourself with company procedures and policies regarding client complaints and compliments, reporting all such incidents to the Head Chef immediately.
- Carry out any reasonable management request.
General:
- Be a proactive team member offering help to others as required.
