This role leads the financial control function for the European region and serves as global financial controller for our Advanced Wound Care, Infusion Care and Global Quality Operations business units. The Regional Financial Controller ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance and effective risk management across complex, high‐value entities. The role drives consistency in financial governance, supports strategic decision‐making through robust control processes and influences enterprise‐wide initiatives and system improvements.

Position Overview: Working cross‐functionally with senior stakeholders, the Regional Financial Controller influences enterprise‐wide initiatives and system improvements. Success is measured by the strength of financial controls, quality of reporting, and the ability to lead across diverse geographies and business units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver required changes to financial processes, including implementation of accounting standard changes in your jurisdiction and lead on financial aspects of system improvements.
• Provide expert IFRS and local GAAP accounting policy insights to ensure compliance for both business‐as‐usual processes and ad‐hoc material transactions or business changes.
• Partner with Convatec Business Services centres (CBS) to provide financial insights and guidance to enable delivery of financial statements.
• Partner with the Financial Control team and Global Process Owners to ensure appropriateness and compliance with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide expert support to stakeholders on the management of both internal and external audit requirements.
• Ensure activities across the finance teams in your jurisdiction are aligned to the finance operating model and lead on continuing to simplify & standardise activities.
• Be an advocate and trusted partner of the CBS – resolve issues quickly and efficiently and be a change agent for standardisation.
• Overall responsibility for all aspects of financial reporting and compliance for the allocated region, as some of the most material entities within the Group.
• Provide leadership in transformation initiatives, system implementations and M&A activities.
• Lead and develop a high‐performing financial controller team.
• Approve material non‐routine financial journals in your jurisdiction in line with Convatec's Grant of Authority framework.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to quickly distill complex, detailed information and provide an executive summary of the material aspects.
• Deep understanding of internal control frameworks, financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to align financial control strategy with broader business goals and influence senior stakeholders.
• Inquisitive nature.

Qualifications / Education:

• University‐level degree in Finance or a similar business subject.
• 15+ years' experience working in a finance environment with preference for a multi‐site global company.
• Qualified chartered accountant or similar.

This is a remote role that may be based in the UK, Germany or Portugal. The position will require travel around 15‐20% of the time.
