About the role

Your key duties and responsibilities
- Core team leadership and overall responsibility for ensuring delivery of all Global Operations (GO) activities for Advanced Wound Care NPD projects.
Working with cross functional project teams to provide a coordinated and collaborative approach.
- Project management and coordination of the wider Global Operations teams to ensure delivery of project on time and on budget, including Global automation engineering, Manufacturing site, Operations Finance, Manufacturing Quality, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Packaging and Labelling.
- Stakeholder management throughout the project, including establishment of communication schedules to update pre-determined stakeholders on the progress of the project and establish steering & escalation teams.
- Evaluate and secure resources from wider Operations team to support project feasibility through to delivery.
- Create detailed work plans for assigned projects which identify and sequence the GQO activities needed to successfully complete each project, understanding, and factoring for dependencies to other cross functional activities.
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
- Review project schedules with senior management and project team members; revise schedules/plan as required.
Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
- Identification of roadblocks/issues within projects. Problem solve / support / mitigate and elevate as appropriate to ensure resolution.
- Run risk review sessions and build mitigation plans with cross functional teams to ensure level of risk is accurately assessed, and ensure threat to projects is minimized, and opportunities maximized.
Ensure clear communication of risk profile to senior leadership.
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
- Creation of operational strategy documents including assessing manufacturing requirements.
- Leading Make versus Buy or Make vs Make manufacturing investigations.
- Providing operational cost estimates to input into project business cases. Drafting CAPEX/CAR documentation. Monitor all budgeted project expenditures.
- Evaluating and quantifying the production costs that will be incurred on finished goods through stage gates of the project.
- Compilation and presentation of Operational input for Business process Gate reviews.
- Signatory for any Operations sign offs as part of Design Control documentation.
- Determine the objectives and measures (KPIs) upon which projects will be evaluated at completion and monitor through to completion.
- In consultation with senior management support the recruiting, interviewing and select staff with appropriate skills for operational project activities.
- Ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the project.
- Develop processes, forms, and records to document project activities. Optimize to meet the needs of advanced operations.
- Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
- Write reports on the project for management as requested by the Director.
- Determine and facilitate operational activities required to complete project closure and ensure clear agreed roles and responsibilities to effectively handover project into Business as Usual/base business.
Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in project management in the medical device industry or similar.
Experience in project management working with cross functional teams either in Operations Projects or Product Development projects.
- Experience working with Business Process models e. g. Stage Gate Processes. Experience with SCRUM based sprint planning is desirable.
- An understanding of Medical Device Regulations and CFR, and experience with Design Control is preferred.
- Be proficient in the use (speaking) and understanding (reading and writing) of the English language.
- Demonstrate a full understanding of the ‘Life cycle’ of a project and be experienced will all aspects and deliverables within that ‘Life cycle’ from concept justification to URS/RFP/POP/FAT/SAT/IQ/OQ/PQ to handover.
- Possess excellent attention to detail, be meticulous and thorough in all aspects of the project deliverables.
- Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and to deal with ambiguity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of organization, up to executive management.
- Must provide leadership of teams and co-ordinate with cross-functional areas and business functions.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problem, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.
- Highly structured, capable of running lots of tasks in parallel.
Qualifications/Education
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a scientific subject.
- Documented project management training and/or certificate e. g. IPMA-C/B, Prince2, PMP is preferable).
Travel Requirements
- Position may involve travel up to 25% of the time, overseas travel is expected, and most trips will include overnight stays.
Working Conditions
- This position is based in Deeside’s manufacturing site with a hybrid working structure.
- The role requires flexibility (as required) to visit and work with engineering vendors for machine development, suppliers for material sourcing and Conva Tec manufacturing sites for machine installation/validation
